Thompson Gin is where William Thomas Hartman was Manager. Mr. Thompson liked him so much he furnished Hartman's family with a home close to the Gin. It had electricity. they had lights and a radio. Neighbors came from miles away to listen to the radio. Mary Lou, W.T.'s daughter worked at the general store. The Dixie now located in downtown McKinney as part of a museum.
