Ode to Uncle Bill and Arlene by Uncle Bubbie
Ode to Uncle Bill and Arlene
by Ralph H. Hill, Jr. (April 2009)
Uncle Bill and Arlene have come to town,
And now I will act something like a clown.
I will try to show off my juggling skills,
Or else my harmonica music with no frills.
It’s been since year two-thousand-and-six
Since they were here in the Texas mix
Suzanne and Jeremy have bought a house
And in our attic, we caught a little mouse.
Kristi and Lex are going to have a kid
And on a house they put in a bid.
Now Cindy and Matt live in New Mexico
And they are always very much on the GO.
Hopper, our good ole dog is finally gone,
Soon to be buried under our lawn.
Mary and Raymond did have a bag store,
They do not have to work there any more.
Linda Kay now works at a part time job,
And Bub has to enter work with a fob.
Jeremy is there, too, at the same workplace,
As Suzanne puts up the "Aggie Park" face.
Mary Lou's cracked pelvis is on the heal
And in her feet, she has almost no feel.
So pass on these stories from the Texas state.
That we're glad to see you, there is no debate.
